2026 FALL PACA Youth Rides
15-09-2026 18:00 – 14-10-2026 20:00
Tuesday Beginners at Campbell Mt Wednesday Intermediate & Intermediate+ at 3 Blind Mice (NOW WITH SHUTTLE!)   Weekly fun youth group rides led by PMBIA Certified Mountain Bike Instructors, running for 6 weeks this fall across two locations so riders of every level get matched with the right terrain — from Campbell Mountain Rides for our youngest beginners to Rusty Muffler Shuttles for intermediate and advanced riders. We have 3 skill categories and it's really important that all parents read the requirements for each thoroughly before registering. If you're unsure which group your rider should sign up for, please email info@bikepenticton.com.   A big thanks to Freedom Bike Shop for providing shuttles and drivers to get our riders to Rusty Muffler!   A note on shuttles: this is a trial program for us this fall. We'd love your feedback on cost and whether parents would prefer a drop-off option (parents driving directly to the trailhead) instead of the shuttle. Please email info@bikepenticton.com with your thoughts — we'll use this feedback to shape our 2027 coaching offerings.   Tuesdays — Campbell Mountain Rides (Sept 8 – Oct 13)  Parents are responsible for getting their riders to Campbell Mountain Main Lot ready to ride for 4:30pm. Pick-up is 6:30pm at the same location.   Beginner (ages 7-9) This group is for our youngest riders who are already comfortable riding off-road with their parents and are ready to build more experience, confidence, and skill on the trails. It’s primarily a fun, social group ride rather than a structured coaching program, but coaches will introduce and reinforce key fundamentals along the way, including balance, braking, bike control, and basic trail skills. Rides will take place at Campbell Mountain in a relaxed, low-pressure setting, giving young riders a chance to ride with peers, explore more terrain, and become more capable and independent on single-track.   Wednesdays — Rusty Muffler Shuttles (Sept 9 – Oct 14) Parents are responsible for dropping riders at Freedom Bike Shop ready to go for 4:30pm. Freedom Bike Shop provides shuttle transport up to the Rusty Muffler trailhead in the Three Blind Mice. Pick-up is 6:30pm at the Pump Track Lot off Naramata Road.   Intermediate This group is for riders who have single-track experience and are looking to become more comfortable with blue trails in the Three Blind Mice-like terrain, and/or have not ridden with other group rides. We will focus on skills such as body position, braking, and gearing on intermediate terrain. This is NOT for beginner MTB riders.   Intermediate+ This group is for riders that have single-track experience and are comfortable on all blue trails in the Three Blind Mice and are starting to ride some easier advanced trails, or have joined other group MTB rides. This group will focus on finding harder intermediate and advanced features on blue trails and progress their way to some easier black trails.     All riders must have current youth or family PACA membership.  All riders must have functional mountain bike with (at least): front suspension disc brakes approved mtb helmet we highly recommend knee and elbow mtb pads. Not sure if your rider's bike and gear is suitable? Do not hesitate to drop in at the Bike Barn!     Meet your coaches: Amanda Nadeau Certified Level 1 GSMBC, Emergency Medical Responder and Occupational First Aid 3 A rider of 25 years, Amanda spent two years with Pedalheads helping young riders become confident on trails, and also with Shred Sisters, empowering female riders through skill-building clinics.
