March 29 - PACA Trail Captain Day – Three Blind Mice Help us get the Three Blind Mice network ready to ride. Trail Captain Day is a focused volunteer day where volunteers are assigned a trail to clear debris, check conditions, and report issues. This isn’t a heavy dig day—it’s about light maintenance + eyes on trails to help PACA prioritize work for the season. What You’ll Do Clear deadfall and debris Check for erosion and safety concerns Identify trail damage and maintenance needs Learn how to submit a simple trail report on Trail Forks This gives PACA a clear snapshot of trail conditions across the network and helps direct crews to where work is needed most. Details Location: Poplar Grove Lot Time: March 29th, 10am - 1pm Duration: ~4 hours CAN'T MAKE IT THE DAY OF? CHOOSE YOUR TRAIL HERE AND LET US KNOW WHEN YOU'RE DONE:  Sign up for a trail (or 2-3 if their shorties) here! Apres: We'll supply lunch and refreshements at the Poplar Grove Lot after the work is wrapped up to say thanks for coming out!  Bring: Gloves, water, snacks, phone, and any small tools you have (loppers/saw/shovel/rake).

PACA X BOLD Spring Break Camps   At BOLD MTB Coaching, Vanessa believes in unlocking the full potential of every rider, and introducing the next generation to mountain biking here across the Okanagan Valley. Explore the possibilities, embrace the bold, and let the trail unfold under your wheels!    Together with PACA, ​​let’s build confidence, control, and trail awareness as riders transition back into outdoor riding after winter. Your kid will learn how and when to use their gears for a variety of terrain, climb easy, corner smoothly, brake properly, foundations of navigating trails, jumping and be an all around safe rider while having fun!   Choose from four, 2 Day Camps:  MARCH 16-26 - Ages 5-7 - Beginner/Beginner + For ages: 5-7; up to 6 riders per program Riding Levels: Beginner/Beginner+  Find your riding level here Location: Campbell Mountain.  Drop off is at the yellow gate, just beyond the cattle guard.  Program 1: Monday March 16 & Wednesday March 18 2:00pm-4:00pm $225+GST Program 2: Tuesday March 24 & Thursday March 26 2:00pm-4:00pm $225+GST   MARCH 17-25 - Ages 8-11 - Beginner+/Intermediate  For ages: 8-11; up to 6 riders per program Riding Levels: Beginner+/ Intermediate  Find your riding level here Locations: Campbell (Drop off is at the yellow gate, just beyond the cattle guard). /Three Blind Mice (drop off is at the top of Riddle at the city gate to the Mice) Riders should be comfortable riding their bike independently, able to pedal up gentle hills for short periods, and descend gradual trails with control. PACA's Youth Rides are back! (Formerly the Barn Youth Rides) Weekly skill focused youth group rides for kids ages 9 and up (Please message us for any potential age exceptions) lead by PMBIA Certified Mountain Bike Instructors in the Three Blind Mice weekly for 6 weeks.  First Round- Thursday evenings from May 22, May 29, June 5, June 12, June 19, and June 26. $130/rider Second Round - Thursday evenings from July 3, July 10, July 17, July 24, July 31, and August 7 $130/rider Parents are responsible for getting their riders to Rusty Muffler parking lot in the Three Blind Mice ready to ride for 545pm.  We have 3 skill categories and it is really important that all parents read the requirements for each thoroughly before registering. If you are unsure which skills group your rider should sign up for, please email info@bikepenticton.com Intermediate 1: This group is for riders who have single track experience and are looking to become more comfortable with blue trails in the Three Blind Mice like terrain and/or have not ridden with the Barn and PACA team. We will focus on skills such as body position, braking and gearing on intermediate terrain. This is NOT for  beginner mtb riders.  Intermediate 2 (InterAdvanced): This group is for riders that have single track experience and are comfortable on all blue trails in the Three Blind Mice and are starting to ride some easier advanced trails or they have ridden witht he Barn PACA team. This group will focus on finding harder intermediate features on blue trails and progress their way to some easier black trails.  Advanced: This group is for riders capable of riding all the trails, including black trails, in the Three Blind Mice. There will be opportunity to session advanced features throughout the Mice.   All riders must have current youth or family PACA membership.  All riders must have functional mountain bike with (at least) front suspension and disc brakes and approved mtb helmet and we highly recommend knee and elbow mtb pads. Join us at Abandoned Rail Brewing on Sunday, October 20th from 10am to 4pm for a final celebration of all things cycling. All riders are welcome, from road to mountain to urban.  For the mountain bikers, Three Blind Mice shuttles leave Abandoned Rail at 10am, 12pm and 1:30pm, $20 per person. Or ride both the first and third shuttles for $30. Gravel riders (and road riders with gravel bikes!) can enjoy a free ride up the KVR, led by a PACA Paceliners ride leader. The ride leaves at 10am from Abandoned Rail. Destination is LIttle Tunnel if the weather and our legs agree. Or just pop by to meet the PACA crew, show your love for our volunteers and talk bikes all afternoon. Abandoned Rail’s amazing menu will be up and running as well as pizza by the slice (margarita). Beers and other bevys will be ready to be poured (first into a glass, then into you!).   Bring your kids and pals! We’ve got seats inside and out, so if the weather’s cold, we’ll get cozy inside.

PACA Girls Youth Rides  Lead by a PMBIA Certified Mtb instructor, this group ride is an opportunity for young female mtb riders to connect and progress together!  Although we will touch on skills and work on progression, the focus will be on creating a fun, social environment on bikes for intermediate/advanced female riders ages 10 & up.  We will shuttle the Three Blind Mice and maybe do a Campbell climb!  Thursday evenings at 6pm (Except Sept 5th, that will be a 430pm start) September 5th, 12th, & 19th Intermediate and Advanced riders ages 10 & up. (Age exceptions considered for experienced riders)   60$ per rider All riders must have PACA membership

Al'PACA's are BACK this summer with more dates and stoke! Our summer clinics are for kids aged 6 - 12yrs with beginner and intermediate options this year! July Dates Beginner 6-8yrs - July 8, 9, 10, 11 from 10am to 12pm in the Three Blind Mice on Chipmunk Trail! Beginner 9-12yrs - July 16, 17, 18, 19 from 10-12pm in the Three Blind Mice on Chipmunk Trail! Shredders (Intermediate) 8-12yrs - July 22, 23, 24, 25 from 10am-12('ish)pm in the Three Blind Mice (Shuttle).    August Dates Beginner 6-8yrs - August 12, 13, 14, 15 from 10am-12pm in the Three Blind Mice on Chipmunk Trail! Shredders 8-12yrs - August 20, 21, 22, 23 from 10am to 1230('ish) in the Three Blind Mice (Shuttle).    Beginner Riders - These riders are able to ride their bike confidently but have little to no experience on single track trails! We will work on balance and braking as well as basic gearing. Younger age groups will have lots of fun breaks and play games! Apparently our dance breaks were pretty popular last year! Beginner riders must have mountain bike style bikes with handbrakes (i.e no BMX bikes or bikes with back pedal braking). Shredders/Intermediate Riders - These Riders have single track experience and can (for the most part), tackle all the green and blue trails in the Three Blind Mice. We know the Mice can be tricky, so there will be lots of opportunity to session more difficult sections of the blue trails! These shredders (Intermediates) must have functioning mountain bikes with disc brakes, front and rear suspensions are a bonus!   Participants Info: - All riders must hold current PACA Membership  - A mtb approved helmet. - We highly recomend knee pads for all (but especially younger riders), as a small scrape can cause alot of discomfort alterning their learning and riding fun! - Participants must carry their own snacks and water and appropriate clothing.   - Spare tube for their size bike tire.    Spots are limited and fill up fast!   Any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact Stephanie, our Head Instructor via call/text or email.

Adult Weekender Skills Clinics are back this spring! Grab some friends and sign up for 1 day (4hrs)  of instruction and skill progression with our PMBIA Certified Mtb Instructor in Penticton BC.  Beginner and an Intermediate (Date tbd) options!   Beginner Clinic  New to riding and want to learn the fundamentals of mountain biking? Or are you a newer rider and want to make sure you do not develop any bad habits as you progress? Then the Beginner Weekender Skills Clinic in June is for you! Date: July 6 Time: 10am - 2pm Place: Three Blind Mice Day 1: We will start off by going over our bike's components and touch on some basic bike maintnance. We will end the day having gone over body poistion, braking, cadence (gears) on beginner terrain and do some light riding on easiest terrain in the Three Blind Mice.  Depending on the group, we may Shuttle up to Rustry Muffler or spend out time On Chipmunk and Farout etc Intermediate Clinic Have some riding experience under your saddle and want to take it to the next level? Comfortable on green and most blue trails? Are there certain features you'd like to tackle but would like to break it down in a safe environment with proper instruction?  Then the Intermediate Weekender Skills Clinic the following day is for you! Date: July 7th Time: 10am to 2pm in the Place: Three Blind Mice.  Day 1: We will explore intermediate terrain and features throughout the 3BM, and session rock rolls, technical sections, and go over some basic bike handling maneuvers.  As the day progresses we will seek out more difficult intermediate terrain and features and find some climbs to tackle and session. We will go over any specific skills or features participants would like to work on or session.    Participant Info:  All clinic participants should have: - Functioning mountain bikes with front suspension (minimum, rear suspension suggested) and disc brakes. - An approved mtb helmet. - Spare tube for their bike and tools to change a flat. - We highly recommend knee and elbow mtb pads. - Individual snacks and water. - Current PACA Membership also required. Learn the essential skills of road cycling. Get comfortable on your road bike and riding in groups in these progressive clinics, taught by certified coaches. Choose the clinic or clinics that best suit your needs. Registered participants will receive an email with meetup location and instructions on what to bring. Clinic 1 - April 26 - 6pm Location: Local parking lot in Penticton Get familiar with your road bike and basic body position. Practise braking, riding in a straight line, and riding with one hand. Move on to riding in a straight line while grabbing your water bottle and eating. Learn how to do shoulder checks safely. We also cover low and medium-speed cornering, and tight turns.  Clinic 2 - May 3 - 6pm Location: Local parking lot in Penticton, and a quiet road Take your road riding skills one step further in Clinic 2. Learn and practise gearing and cadence, and riding out of your saddle. Learn the basics of riding on a wheel, and in a pace line. Know all of the hand signals you need to ride in a group. Clinic 3 - May 10 - 6pm Location: On Holden at Carmi In Clinic 3, focus on climbing and descending hills efficiently and effectively. Learn when to change gears, body position and choosing a line.
